The BODHI TREE- State emblem of Bihar, is the tree under which Gautam Buddha (founder of religion Buddhism) attained Enlightenment. Apart from that, It is the land of Great Emperor Ashoka, Mahavira, the birth place of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (Sikh Guru), and other great personalities. It has a rich religious history of Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Jainism and has many places of worship. Many wildlife sanctuaries and national parks are there for wildlife enthusiasts. This rural landscape fascinates those, who love and want to enjoy the rustic village life.

This State is made of the soil brought by the Holy River GANGA and it's tributaries. Therefore, It is also known as the plains of GANGA. It is rich in agricultural land. In the East of this state, lies West Bangal and In the West, Uttar Pradesh is there. In the North of this state, lies Nepal and In the south, Jharkhand is there.

Its famous festival is Chatth Puja. Dishes for which Bihar is famous include Bihari Litti Choka, Bihari Chicken Masala, Satttu Paratha, Choka, Fish Curry, and Posta Sana Sabji. Traditional Folk dances of Bihar-Bidesia, Jat Jatin, Jumari, Paika, Jhijian, Sam Chakewa.

How to reach Bihar? 

Airways: Bihar has two operational airports. They are, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Airport located in Patna, and the Gaya Airport situated in Gaya. 
The Patna airport is connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bangaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Ranchi. The Patna airport is categorized as a restricted international airport, with customs facilities to receive international chartered flights.
The Gaya Airport is an international airport connected to Colombo, Singapore, Bangkok, Paro and more.

Railways: Bihar has well developed railway network with almost all the major and minor places connected by good trains. Major railway stations like Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Gaya are connected to all the major cities of India by regular trains. The Approx. length of the rail track in the state is 3,377 Kilometers.

Roadways: There is good network of roads connecting all the major parts of the state with Patna. National highways like 2, 31, 28, 23, 30, and 33 connect the state from places all over India.
